Rockville Hills Regional Park Restoration

In conjunction with the City of Fairfield, Parks Department, the Trust began a community-based land management and restoration program for this park, one of the largest regional parks proximate to major population centers in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Park used cattle grazing to manage park vegetation and to reduce fuel loads but the cattle had eliminated native plants from portions of the Park and severely impacts native creek and wetland vegetation. Working with community volunteers, the Trust designed and implemented a restoration and management program to re-introduce natives and enhance native habitats.

The Restoration Trust is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization governed by a volunteer board of directors, to promote native habitat restoration and stewardship in central California.
